Osborne House

Places to Visit

The grounds, gardens and ground floor of the house at Osborne are open. Measures are still in place to keep everyone safe, and you need to book your visit in advance.

Osborne is the palatial former holiday home of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, located on the Isle of Wight. Relax in the open air as you wander rolling acres of the magnificent Osborne estate. Take in the riotous colours of the walled garden, or enjoy the peaceful shade of the woodland walk. Visit Victoria and Albert’s bathing beach and admire their children’s cottage for an intimate glimpse of royal family life. Stroll through the garden terraces and take in the same stunning views across the Solent that once reminded Prince Albert of the Bay of Naples.

Step inside to explore the sumptuous ground floor state rooms that were used to entertain heads of states, princes and princesses. Admire the ornate architecture, furnishings and fine art collection and discover Victoria and Albert’s personal taste, style and passions.
