FreeDescription
Escape to the southernmost tip of the Island to visit the Isle of Wight's only surviving lighthouse. This walk can be a short one, starting at the Buddle Inn, heading down to lighthouse and up again via Castle Haven beach. A walk combined with lunch at the Buddle makes a good outing and they often have live music in the garden. The lighthouse is sometimes open for tours but worth checking opening hours beforehand.
A much longer walk of around 3.5miles, can be found on the National Trust website if you have more energy and time on your hands!
Facilities
- Free parking in the carpark opposite the Buddle Inn but this is for customers of the pub but there is also free on road parking nearby
- Limited facilities otherwise - usually a coffee kiosk down by Castle Haven in peak season
