New Carnival is passionate about engaging children and communities in meaningful learning through carnival arts.     The Mardi Gras showcases the very best of children, young people, and members of the community’s carnival experience through learning, creating and performance. It works closely with schools, colleges, and community groups in the development of the event and the processes which contribute to it. The theme for this year’s Mardi Gras is ‘Our World Our Future’. New Carnival went into schools and asked children about their hopes for the future. They talked about the world presently and looked at the United Nations ‘Sustainable Development Goals’. 

Mini Mardi Gras - Minghella Square - 11am-3pm - Free drop-in carnival activities for families with young children, face painting, dressing up, fun crafts.
