This walk or bike ride is part of the Red Squirrel Trail, which connects much of the Island through a cycle network.  As it's an old railway which has been turned into a cycle track, it makes for an excellent buggy-friendly walk or a very safe, flat bike ride.  The part from Alverstone to Newchurch takes around 30 minutes with beautiful views of Knighton Gorges.
