One of the Isle of Wight’s most spectacular summer traditions returns in 2026 as Ventnor Carnival celebrates an incredible 137 years of carnival history.

Ventnor Carnival Week 2026

Ventnor Carnival Week is packed with family entertainment, community events, parades and celebrations, attracting visitors from across the Isle of Wight and beyond.

Throughout the week, families can enjoy a variety of carnival activities, live entertainment and community events leading up to the spectacular carnival processions.

Ventnor Carnival Week Community Fayre taking place on Saturday 8th August 2026 at Ventnor Putting Green from 12 Midday to 6pm.

The Children's Carnival showcases colourful costumes, creativity and community spirit, while the Grand Carnival brings together spectacular floats, performers and entertainment before a dazzling fireworks display.

The week concludes with the much-loved Illuminated Carnival, where decorated floats and performers light up the streets of Ventnor in a magical evening procession. Ventnor Illuminated Carnival takes place on Saturday 15th August 2026 at 9pm.
Participants to assemble in Dudley Road from 7.45pm for 8.30pm judging.
Route is: Pier Street, High Street, Victoria Street, Albert Street, Pier Street, Church Street, Belgrave Road and Park Avenue.

Later in the year, the celebrations continue with the festive Lantern Parade and Carnival in December.

With more than a century of history behind it, Ventnor Carnival remains one of the Isle of Wight's most cherished family events and a highlight of the summer calendar.
